Sweltering Cities

Sweltering Cities is a new community-organising project with the aim of working with communities facing extreme heat and longer summers in our cities. The project is at the intersection of health, inequality and climate change. 

To create the logo, I used a bold, strong font that gives an urban and man-made feel. The melting letters suggest the effects of heat on these suburban environments. Slightly different shades of orange give a shimmering effect, adding to the feeling of heat. I added a melting Victorian-style house to give a clear connection to the issues of housing.
